Locally, a 6-axis accelerometer is used to calculate metrics such as cadence and step count. When used independently, distance-related data is calculated using the accelerometer's algorithm, which differs from GPS calculations and may result in discrepancies in the data.
What technology is used for heart rate monitoring?
We utilize photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors for heart rate monitoring, which essentially analyze changes in reflected light after illuminating the skin with a light source. Through algorithmic analysis, this enables heart rate monitoring functionality.
